For 25 years, Makuu has been a vibrant hub of connection, growth, and empowerment for students interested in Black culture and the African Diaspora at the University of Pennsylvania. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on our journey and look ahead to the future with renewed dedication to fostering opportunities for the next generation of leaders, scholars, and changemakers.

This anniversary is not just a celebration of what we’ve accomplished, but a call to action for the years ahead. Together, we will continue to create spaces where Black students can thrive, be seen, and lead with purpose. Book Signing: Your Money Playbook with Brandon Copeland (W’13)

Friday, November 15th, 6:30pm – 7:30pm, ARCH (3601 Locust Walk) 
Join Wharton alumni Brandon Copeland as he returns to campus to celebrate the release of his newest book, Your Money Playbook: How to Earn More, Build Wealth, and Win at Life. “Your Money Playbook is a bold, practical, and action-oriented blend of candid introspection and strategy to help readers confront their financial insecurities and commit to building new, game-changing mindsets and practices. This accessible and inspirational guide puts the playbook for creating the life you’ve always imagined right in the palm of your hand.”
 
Free copies of the book will be available in a limited quantity compliments of Financial Wellness @ Penn.

Join the BAS for a panel featuring Makuu: The Black Cultural Center staff and Black Alumni Society alumni leaders, and UMOJA student leaders on the election, the post-election climate, and looking ahead at Penn and beyond.  Reception with light refreshments to follow. Sponsored by the Black Alumni Society.
